CH *B Pruittville’s Doctor Luke 91EEE       DOB 04/12/2000

Sire: *B Price O The Field Luke

SS: GCH ++*B Price O The Field Bartholomew

DD: GCH Price O The Field Lizzie 3*M FS90

Dam: GCH  Price O The Field Dutch Belle 5*M HES90
DS: CH *B Price O The Field Prince Caleb
DD: Price O The Field Dutch Girl 4*M

It is hard to talk about Doctor Luke in past tense.  He was a very large buck who excelled in strength of general appearance being long and level over the top line, very smoothly blended throughout.  He had tremendous width across the loin and over the rump. He had great spring of rib, excellent shoulders, coupled with great dairy character and beautiful breed character. He was also very wide and open in the escutcheon.    At nearly 8 years of age, Doctor Luke was a very powerful buck who still stood with great strength of feet and legs and excellent rear leg angulation.  With his great depth of pedigree, he was everything you would want in a buck, and especially so, since his daughters are freshening with beautiful mammaries and excellent conformation.

His sire *B Price O The Field Luke produced two National Reserve Grand Champions and many other champion daughters.  POTF Luke's dam, Gch Price O The Field Lizzie won many Best doe in Show and Best Udder awards. At the 1982 Nationals she was reserve best udder and placed 3rd in her class.  Doctor Luke's dam, GCH POTF Dutch Belle 5*M won many BDIS and BOB awards and boy did she milk!  Dutch Belle was the grand daughter of two Reserve National Champions,  GCH Price O The Field Dutchess and GCH Price O The Field Princess.

CH*B Pruittville's Doctor Luke has two Paternal sisters who are National Reserve Champions.  GCH Wingwood Farm Luke Tamaulipas 2*M - 1999 Res. National. Champion and CH Price O The Field Lady Regina  92EEEE who was the 1998 Res. National Champion and 2000 and 2001 Res. Best Udder.

We are very proud of Luke's accomplishments.  His daughters excel in general appearance and have lovely dairy character.  Luke consistently stamps his style, with beautiful wide level rumps and lots of width in the escutcheon.   They have lovely breed character and are freshening with beautiful udders. You get it all with this buck!   One of his daughters,  CH Pruittville’s Magnolia 92EEEE has Best Doe In Show numerous times and won the INBA Nubian Specialty Show in Texas! At the National Show Magnolia was 6th place in the 5&6 year old class and 4th as a 7 year old.  Another daughter, CH Pruittville's Honeysuckle 92EEEE, finished her championship along with BDIS awards.   Honeysuckle was 11th place as 2 year old and 2nd place 4 year old at the Nationals.   While yet another daughter, Pruittville's Applesauce also appraised Ex90VEVE but is no longer a part of our herd.   These 3 daughters made up the 5th place Senior Get Of Sire for Doctor Luke at the 2006 National Show.

Needless to say, we are very blessed  to have owned this buck!

I have long admired the beautiful animals of Karen Senn's Kastdemur Nubians and so we decided to introduce some of the Kastdemur  bloodlines to our herd.   Expedition is an eye-catching red buck with a white belt.  He has wonderful breed character with lovely bell shaped  ears that lay properly about the head.  When you get your hands on him, he is nice and dairy with soft, pliable skin.  Additionally, he has a very   high, wide escutcheon.

We chose this buck carefully from Karen Senn’s “E” line primarily for the beautiful mammaries that are found there – all the way through  the pedigree.  Expedition is a careful blend of Cadillac, Hallcienda and Conquest.  Expedition's dam, Next Exit, has been very consistent in the show ring both in local California shows and at the Nationals.  She was 2nd/2nd udder in 2001, 3rd/3rd udder in 2002, and 6th place 4 yr. old in 2003. She’s a doe with a beautiful head and breed character, angularity, depth, and a very capacious, well attached mammary system.  Next Exit's littermate brother, Kastdemur's At Your Service (aka Ace) has many beautiful daughters in the Lakeshore Farm herd.

Expedition is extremely linebred, in fact, he is actually 27.45% inbred!  We wanted a linebred buck knowing that he would be almost a complete outcross when used on our animals.  This cross between our type of animal and Kastdemur lines has already proven itself in the Easy Stream herd as the Shrums crossed Kastdemur's LE Wildcat (full brother to Expedition’s sire, Kastdemur’s Exacta) with animals of very similar type and pedigree to ours and achieved excellent results.  Exacta's full sister is the beautiful CH Kastdemur's Great Expectations.

When I purchased Mr. Goodbar, I was not even in the market for a new buck until I saw Godiva in the Blissberry Herd Brochure.  This powerhouse of a doe is a beautiful example of the Nubian breed with milk records to go with it.  She simply took my breath away. With 3 appraisal scores of Excellent 92 and 3 DHIA records of 4,000 pounds or thereabout, I felt this doe put it all together.   It only added more flair to his potential genetics to have been sired by a son of the beautiful doe, GCH Kastdemur's Santa Cruz 10*M EX 92EEEE.   Linebred on ++*B Silver Thistles Dusty Conquest, Mr. Goodbar is 6.24% inbred.

Mr. Goodbar is a wildly colored red spotted buck.  So far, he has been generous with spots on his kids.  He stands tall for his age and has good depth of body and excellent spring of ribs.  His topline is almost flawless and his sharp withers exemplifies his dairy character.  No worries with pasterns on this guy as he stands strong with excellent feet and legs.

Special thanks to Sarah Kohen-Walberg for not only allowing me to own this buck but for also providing me the following pictures of his dam and grand dam.
